mom-mode post # 44 - on how it ain't Pottery Barn but I love it!

It ain't Pottery Barn, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Considering we were on a budget, in a foreign country that doesn't have yard sales or Target and most of the items in here are hand-me-downs!

Chair we got on sale at Home Depot type store here. Much cheaper than Ikea... The materials for the curtains and pillows I did by at Ikea and had a seamstress here work with it. The materials were way more expensive than the seamstress. The crib was a hand-me-down.
The tree mural was inspired by a painting a I did for my friend's baby a couple of years ago. Plus it's about the only thing I know how to "free hand" on a wall.:) The paint here was a little messier than what I was used to work with in the States. So i came up with the idea of the canvas initials to cover up my mess-ups.:)

Hand me downs: changing table and dresser.
Here are some more details:

Now we just need a baby boy to go in it!

mom-mode post #43 - does this dress make my belly look fat?

For your viewing pleasure, a little comparison: same dress, 10 weeks and 38 and 1/2 weeks.

Does this dress make my belly look fat ( and my face and my arms, etc)?

I guess the little boy and the extra chocolate in me do.

Happy Love Day everyone! Off to enjoy some last few moments  with my hubby before the chaos ensues. ( My mom and dad are coming into town this week!)

mom-mode post # 42 - on what they call "nesting"

I've been crafting like there's no tomorrow. Ideas just keep popping into my head and I start a new project without even finishing the other. Is this what they call "nesting"?
Going on 38 weeks. Pictures soon to follow.

Meanwhile, behold my headbands and flowers craftiness.

mom-mode post #41- on the anticipation of things to come

Mr. Oliver Gray and I  at 36 and 1/2 weeks. Time is coming quickly to a close and our baby boy will soon make his debut into the world.
He moves around  a lot, he has lots of strength and energy these days... Last night I felt like I was being punched in the stomach, the kicks were so strong. I think he's running out of space in here ( see the pictures!!!).
I'm getting so excited about the upcoming weeks, I can barely sleep of anticipation! Mom and dad come in two weeks and hopefully, soon AFTER, our baby will come too. "Excited" is the understatement of the year. I may not be ready, but I'm so excited to be his mama.
This is us, running away from the snow and cold of our city. Isn't it a beautiful place?
The last pic is for my sisters, I'm showing off my new boots.:)
